Purported to be from Wells Fargo, claimed a purchase was made on one of my credit cards (no reference to which one), said to call this number if this was not a legitimate purchase. Obvious scam - they are hoping you will call this 866 number to get more information, then will undoubtably try to get your personal information and credit card number. Do not be fooled.

They are fishing...card they mention in the text...I don't own.

This is a text message that is meant to look like a Wells Fargo notification that someone may have fraudulently charged your debit card. This came from a spam text number and when received it wasn't connected to any legitimate text chains I have received from Wells Fargo in the past. The way they spell Wells Fargo is also Wells/Fargo which raised red flags. Finally, I checked my accounts and there is no pending charge that matches the amount sent via text. The text also left out the opening parathesis from the phone number; real automated business texts look official not sloppy. This an obvious scam to have you call the 800 number to obtain personal information. Report and Delete it.

Text asking to confirm the use of a bank debit card (listing a bank that I use), making a considerable purchase out of state. Instructions stated to text "Y" if it was a legitimate purchase and if not to call the number that I listed on this report.

Inquiring if I made a transaction at a specific store claiming to be my credit card company but didn’t specify who. Came up on my caller ID as “bank”

This was a text. Posing as Bank of America Fraud Dept. Some have called it spam. But it's worse than that because they want to steal your money. Spam is just annoying unwanted advertising.

Said my B of A card was charged 252 in Glendale AZ 9/4/23 at a Macy's. If it wasn't me...to call this number.

Reported charges on my card(no other card info) in Austin Texas today. Identified as Chase Fraud.

Received a text message from the same # I receive all my credit card charges. Rather than calling the number they gave...866-918-2192, I called the number on the back of my credit card. The charge was not legitimate, and this was definitely a phishing text message. The scary thing is it came from the same # I receive all my credit card charges. If in question, always call the # on your actual credit card and not the number they give you in the text message.

Asked if I used my credit card at Wayfair in Chesapeake charge almost $400. Y if yes. Call number if no for help.
